Veneers
A veneer is a layer of material placed over a tooth, either to improve the esthetics of a tooth or to protect the tooth's surface from damage. The two most common materials used to fabricate dental veneers are composite resin and porcelain. Porcelain dental veneers are more appropriate solutions for severe cases involving dullness, wear, discoloration, extensive chipping, cracks, spacing or uneven teeth. Composite bonding, which refers to direct composite veneers, is an inexpensive, effective and minimally invasive way to restore and correct small chips, cracks and discoloration in the teeth.
Tooth Whitening
In-office bleaching (ZOOM) is called chairside bleaching and usually requires only one office visit. Dr. Sayeed will apply either a protective gel to your gums or a rubber shield to protect the oral soft tissues. A bleaching agent is then applied to the teeth, and a special light may be used. Lasers have been used during tooth whitening procedures to enhance the action of the whitening agent. At-home bleaching procedure involves peroxide-containing whiteners that actually bleach the tooth enamel.
They typically come in a gel and are placed in custom-made bleaching tray.
Invisalign
Invisalign is an orthodontic method that uses transparent, incremental aligners to adjust teeth misalignments without the use of traditional metal brackets and wires. Removable, invisible aligners are worn daily which allows for gradual correction of your misalignment until straighter teeth are achieved. If you have crowded or shifted teeth, Invisalign may be an option for you. The Invisalign treatment process involves taking a mold of the patient's teeth and the use of 3-D technology in order to create a computerized model. Using Dr. Sayeed’s vision and prescription, the computer model creates stages between the current and desired teeth positions that are used to create molds for individual aligners. Brushing and flossing are also easy because Invisalign is removable.
